Overpriced? You can get a tablet for half the cost of a laptop and still are able to use it just as good. Using the cloud services today you can create MS Office docs, save them, email them, print to wireless printers, enjoy the fact that you don't have to pay $300 for MS OFFICE 2010 ($14.99 for Docs To Go)...that's just the beginning. Portability (which you did agree with), instant synchronization with Gmail (or iTunes account depending on the device). I was one that tought the way you did until I forced myself to utilize my iPad for all its worth. I havent touched my laptop other then when I need to design some graphics for a client.

And honestly the price starts at $99 for a low grade tablet. My Android phone does basically everything that my tab can do but I have looking at a 4" screen.

I'm tryign to get on board the tablet craze but all the examples i'm shown of benefits seem to be extremely similar to things you can do on laptops or phones anyway so, being a normal person and having both of these, i cant really see the benefit apart from it being slightly light than a laptop to carry around but still too big to fit in a pocket so still annoying to carry around. Pretty much the only other benefit i can see i using it as an e book reader. Get some better arguments for otherwise there's no chance i'll jump on this overpriced fad.
